I have owned my Moke for 25 years, it's a 1981 Californian Model, purchased in 1989. I used to drive a work car during the week, and the Moke at weekends. I started the restoration 12 months ago, and I found that some of the parts were in such bad condition, it was better to buy new replacements than bodge up the old ones.
The paint shop did a super job cutting out the rust and then a first class paint job. ‘Moke Australia’ and ‘Mini Plus’ provided many bits. The photos were taken in my driveway, but I will do better ones when the Moke is finished. And all that remains is replacing struts and rubbers in the front suspension, which is happening now, a new steering wheel, and a new hood. What I envisaged being a small job turned into a massive restoration project but as you can imagine I am very pleased with the result! I have yet to find a name for "my Moke". Maybe "Bluey" what do you think? Cheers and Beers from Townsville, Queensland, Squizzy.
